Troubleshooting

What to check when something doesn't look right.

Developers 2 min read Updated 19 Oct 2026

Most problems come down to one of a few things: the scheduler is off, an email account isn’t set up, a key is wrong, or the screens weren’t rebuilt after an update. Work down the list that matches what you’re seeing.

Errors are logged#

When something behind the scenes fails (an email, a Stripe charge, a Xero invoice, an Outlook update), the job carries on and the failure is written to Frappe’s Error Log in Desk, with a title starting “RooMoverRoo”. Check there first. Sign in to Desk at /staff-login as an Administrator.

Common problems#

What you seeWhat to check
No emails arriveAn outgoing Email Account exists and is the default (Email delivery). Frappe’s Email Queue shows anything stuck. Check the client’s spam folder.
Job sheets aren’t sent, quotes never expire, no day sheetsThe scheduler is off. Run bench --site <site> enable-scheduler and make sure the bench’s scheduler and worker processes are running.
A deposit was paid but the quote didn’t become a jobThe Stripe webhook isn’t reaching the site, or the signing secret is wrong. Compare the endpoint and secret with the Payments (Stripe) tab, and check the webhook’s delivery log in Stripe.
The balance wasn’t charged after FINISH JOBThe bank may have asked the client to approve the charge. The client was emailed a pay link instead. Check the Error Log for the reason.
Travel always shows as estimatedNo Google Maps key, the Routes API isn’t enabled for it, or the key’s referrer restriction doesn’t include your domain. Try the optional server key.
Addresses don’t autocompletePlaces API (New) and Maps JavaScript API must be enabled for the browser key.
Times or deadlines look a few hours outFrappe’s System Settings time zone must be Australia/Sydney.
Xero invoices stoppedThe connection has expired. Reconnect on the Xero tab.
An old screen still shows after an updateRun bench build --app roomoverroo and bench restart, then refresh the page.
The website shows old services or offersThe site keeps a copy for a few minutes. Use Refresh in the website theme’s settings, and check the site key matches.
Staff land in Desk instead of the appOnly System Managers stay in Desk. Everyone else is sent to /roo. Run bench --site <site> migrate to reapply the default app.
“You are not allowed to do this”The user is missing the Roo Admin or Roo Booking role. See Who can do what.
